Peter's Music

At the heart of it all,
Peter is a singer and guitarist. But for kids, families and seniors it doesn't stop there. As a one-man-band,
he peppers his guitar riffs with rides on the harmonica, kazoo and train whistle. While
his hands are busy with the guitar or banjo, his feet play the drums! Kids as well as adults love to
watch while they listen.
A Peter McCory show is a tapestry of musical styles, colors and textures. He prefers to
play songs that make children want to move! Some of the kinds of songs he loves to play
include:
* Classic children's songs
* Novelty favorites
* Children's songs from around the world
* Folk songs (Historical classics, sea tunes, cowboy songs, railroad favorites)
* Seasonal and holiday classics
* Nostalgic Americana
* Songs from ages past
Peter's performances
usually feature a heavy mix of familiar children's favorites, often with new,
unique arrangements. Peter's enthusiasm for the classic songs of childhood brings
them to life in a fresh, new way.
Peter also plays other songs that are gems long forgotten by many people. And, his
shows also include his playful, award-winning original children's songs. He's found that
children come in all ages... seniors love his music as much as younger children! Joyful music
crosses all generations and brings old folks and young folks together.
Children rarely sit still when Peter plays. His programs are interactively geared, and stimulate
children to clap, sing, dance, and do fun stuff while he plays. He always brings rhythm instruments
for some of the children to play. You can even follow him down the street now as he plays. To go
along with his usual sit-down set up, Peter now has a walking one-man band rig that is really zany.
Look for pictures of it here soon.
