Hi, Friends...
In a few days my busy summer rush will begin. Once again, I am just about sold out for the
summer, so I am going to be playing for LOTS of kids! Summer is always a fun time for me,
playing for kids at many child care centers, libraries and summer camps. I hope I get to
see you at an event this summer.
If you are hoping to book a show this summer, call soon... I have just a few slots left and I
will be unable to take any more dates till fall. It's nice to be busy... epsecially when the
bills are coming due!
Sales of my new CD have been kind of slow, and I think maybe the sagging economy is to blame
for that. Hopefully things will pick up soon. In the meantime, my CD is currently being
reviewed by School Library Journal, a terrific magazine for children's librarians everywhere. If
they like my CD, it will probably create some library sales for me. It sure did for the first
two CDs I did.
If you haven't gotten your copy of "Get All Happy," I'll be toting them around with me this
summer to all the shows I play, or you can get one online. Just check out my "Recordings"
button for more info. I was at a show recently where a mother asked if I was on iTunes. When
I told her I was, she bought and downloaded the CD on her smartphone right in front of my eyes.
It took about a minute. Technology sure is something these days. I'm kind of a tech
curmudgeon, I guess. I still play records, and my cell phone doesn't do anything but make
phone calls! Now a good hand drum... that's what really fires me up! Three cheers for
low-technology.
